How do I get an MSDS?
Please contact Collins Ink directly and we can fax or email you an MSDS.

Can I send my empty cartridges back to Collins?
Due to our exclusive agreement with HP, we received brand new, empty 45A cartridges. Therefore, we do not refill, remanufacture, or accept used cartridges.

What is the shelf life of your inks?
All of our inks have a one year shelf life.

How many prints can I expect per cartridge?
Environment, application, speed, and dpi will affect how many impressions you get per cartridge, but typically when printing a 4 line address, each cartridge yields 20,000-25,000 impressions.

How should I store my cartridges?
If you are storing your cartridge for less than 1 day, simply leave it in your machine and wipe and purge before the next use. If you are storing your cartridge for more than 1 day, remove it from your machine and place a cartridge clip over the head (available from Collins). Wipe and purge before the next use. You may also store cartridges in an airtight container with a damp cloth or sponge. This will prevent them from drying out.

My cartridge won't restart. What can I do?
With the printhead facing towards the ground, quickly snap the cartridge down until you start to see ink flowing from the nozzles. Follow up with our cartridge cleaning instructions.

How do I clean my cartridge printheads?
Face the printhead down. Using a lint-free cloth moistened with de-ionized water (not alcohol), wipe slowly and lightly across the tip of the long edge. Forcing the wipe or using a dry cloth could scratch the printhead and using a cloth with lint could clog the nozzles.

Are there recommended settings for running Collins Ink?
With the exception of the Bear ink, we recommend the following: Pen driver voltage: 10 - 10.6 V
Fire pulse length: 2.0 - 2.2 microseconds
Pulse warming temperature: 40°C

How many cartridges are in a case?
24 single use cartridges are in a case and 4 bulk cartridges (IM1 or QCT) are in a case.

What is the minimum order requirement?
We don't have one! You can order 1 cartridge if that's what you need.

Do you offer a white ink?
We do not sell a white ink. All of our inks are intended to print on white or light, substrates.
